St Giles Parish Church in Great Longstone, Derbyshire

13th century origins

Tucked away, just off the main route through the centre of the village and on a back-road from the nearby hamlet of Hassop, is the handsome church of St. Giles, part of which dates back to the 13th century.

The 15th century carved oak roof is its most notable feature and the church was extensively re-furbished in the late 19th century.

As well as Great Longstone, St Giles serves the neighbouring villages of Little Longstone, Hassop, Wardlow and Rowland.
